About Malouf and Conversations, I am nearly finished it second time around and it is like a completely different book to me. I feel the same as you in that every time I put it down, I too find myself thinking about the deeper meanings of the book and then reflecting upon my own life. I now think it's a fantastic read and would recommend it to anyone. After reading it again with a great deal less confusion and actually understanding it this time I feel that my own posts about the novel may be a little empty and maybe even a little off track.
Anyway, it was great knowing you and like I said the first time I met you, you have this glow about you therefore I know you will do extremely well. I have found it a highlight all semester to read your journal. It is always very in depth and you always have something interesting to say!!! Its going to be a shame not to have it to read next semester/year but good luck with everything.
sorry to hear that you're leaving Literatue. I think you were spot on in how you said Malouf was soflty spoken yet incredibly intelligent in his presentation and response. I also liked it best when he spoke of the two realities and i mentioned this in my entry.

I also must agree with what you said about David Malouf's comment about the two realities, human beings are such unusual creates we choose to not accept the truth even if there is one~
Thank you Emma for your supportive words on my first entry in LJ. I will hopefully be starting Literature at Strathfield next semester and am yet to read any of David Malouf's work. I am currently reading Alex Miller's "Journey to the Stone Country", a well written novel so far.
Everyone's wishing you the best as you are leaving Literature, but you are only leaving the course at ACU. Literature will always be in the forefront of people who pursue life with passion as I believe it almost certainly is with you, so let us not say goodbye rather a wondrous hello to our new life ahead of us.
I'm sure we'll be hearing again from you soon enough, 'til later
