K so I am addicted to Big Love. Blahblahblah, hate on polygamy but it is a good show.
I just watched the latest episode online. HOLY FUCK IN A HANDBASKETTTT!!! A lot of things unravelled in this episode. That's a big reason why I love this show. So much happens. Some ridiculous, and some real.
Anyways, the biggest thing for me was...Kathy died. SO SO SAD!!
Background: Kathy was Joey's (Bill's brother) second wife-to-be, and they were all to be married, Kathy, Joey and Wanda. Wanda is pretty much batshit and at first couldn't handle Kathy being around, wanted to kill her and all. And was likely to have done it but other things stopped her. She did try to kill two people on the compound before hand. She's easily influenced and easily one of my favourite characters. Just this episode, she was making a schedule for the two wives to do, and she was pasting a collage with Angela, Brad and Jen on it. XD Symbolism much? LOL
But Kathy was super sweet to her, and geniunely cared for Joey and Wanda and she won them both over. I mean, at first Joey didn't want to even do polygamy as he and Wanda were together so long but Kathy was the girl.
Then there was the trial of Roman Grant. Roman is like the evil prophet dude who pretty well bought and forced his way to that position even though the prophet is supposed to be the most spiritual (he is, he just perverts it to suit his needs). Kathy testified against him because he had wed her to a much older man when she was 14 (oh and HER TWIN TO THE SAME GUY!). This man got impatient waiting for her to be old enough/ready for sex so he pressured her into it, so Kathy testified that Roman aided or whatever in her sexual abuse. During the trial, Roman had an insider (OMG FAMILY TIES!) who leaked witnesses so all got scared off...but Kathy. She was so adamant that Roman be put to justice. + points for Kathy.
So since the witnesses were all scared away, Roman walked. He was pissed that Kathy continued to try to "spread lies" against him, so he planned to have her wed to his brother in law the day she was supposed to get married to Joey and Wanda. This was a way to make sure she would pay for what she was doing and to stop her from doing it. Anyways, courageous Kathy was having none of that....so as they were about to bind them, she broke free stabbed a dude in the leg with a pitchfork and managed to steal someone's truck to drive off!!! Moar + points.
....But, something happened. Her hair got caught in the door. No biggie right? Well, it was. Roman chased after her in another (oh did I mention this guy is like a hundred years old doing this shit? what is his secret?!?) car, and she tried to get her hair out of the door. But...she ran into a pole. What should have been just whiplash, snapped her neck completely...and she died!!! The panned to her, and she looked so...Then the last scene of the episode was everyone at the wedding waiting for her. OMG. I JUST ABOUT CRIED GAIZ.
She was just trying to escape a life of abuse, and go for her freedom. :(((( I also have a weird crush on Joey. lol.
I think I watch too many shows at the moment, but honestly....Big Love is probably the best made one out of them that I watch. Scenes are so well done, and everything flows together nicely. Or explodes nicely. There's so much chaos, but it works.
