so i got a convection oven.... and i need help

so i managed to rent an apt without an oven. who knew such things existed. who knew to make sure to check. it's a lovely kitchen but with a stove top in the counter and nothing below it. interesting. and because who would think to double check something like that before signing a lease (i mean wouldnt' the past tenants mention it, they mentioned

this is something i feel i should know more about, and i actually have used a convection oven, years ago in farm & wilderness kitchens, but i remember very little about it, except that you needed to adjust temps from normal recipes (to lower ones, i think.) i think they are supposed to be particularly good for things you want crunchy, and less good for wetter things like casseroles- but you can always use the normal settings. happy baking, and congrats on the apartment! did you stay in the same neighborhood?

and for 6 months, i lived in an apartment with no oven, which neither the roommates or the landlord mentioned before i moved in- but i just did baking at friends' houses, or carried things to my cousin's place, which was down the street. still, annoying.

oh man, i feel for you so bad. in my last apartment the landlord was calling the house a "one unit" because a unit has a stove in it, therefore our upstairs house had nothing but a blender and convection overm.
practically speaking, i would start by giving it a funny name so you feel better about having a toaster over to cook with. also just experiment on toast. it also depends on what settings you have on it. ours had "toast" "crisp" "cook" and "bake" i think. they all have slightly different effects when it comes to crispyness and how well your food is cooked.
it should have a manual that explains exactly how to bake with it, but watch out cause ours would cook stuff really well on the outside and it'd be cold on the inside. basically you're fucked. good luck!
