One might begin to wonder why I bother to pretend to keep this--or any--online presence alive, given that whenever I have time or inclination to write anything here I can't remember what brilliant/insightful/witty things I had thought about posting earlier when I had no time for such activity. I suspect the dog walkers, especially the ones who disobey the leash law, wait until after all the birders have left before coming out there, because they don't like listening to the birders telling them about the leash law. Another advantage to going early in the morning!

I did not see the swans on Christmas either. Sniff. Nor did I spot your kinglet, though I did see a nice flock of goldfinches.

Tea looks lovely, as does the Christmas card. However, I note that *I* did not receive a Gradka card. I seem to have gotten a card full of wild animals sitting at easels. Did you buy that card before or after I declared 2015 to be the Year of Art? Either way, it is most apt!

I like to think that my Christmas card inspired your resolution; in fact, I think that may be my major accomplishment for 2014 so don't disillusion me. The Gradka card did not exist until mid-day on the 25th so you received it almost as soon as it was released to the public. (Okay, if you hadn't dropped Facebook you would have had it a day earlier.)

Possibly missing the dogpack will be enough to get me out the door earlier . . . oh, probably not. -em.
