I'm impressed...maybe you could teach me. Did you do it free form or did you see a picture and recreate it?

I have no teachable skillz. I bought a postcard at the Huntington to copy, then I went to the Art Store in Pasadena and bought a set of acrylics, a few brushes, a little plastic pallette, and some pre-primed canvas boards. I quickly flipped through a book on it (said to block out major color areas first, and that acrylic can be thinned with water to make it thinner, and you can thin it a lot to make a sort of transparent glaze. It also dries really quickly, so it's good to keep a lot of water around (like a jar with water for your brushes, and a damp paper towel on your pallette) so your paint doesn't dry out and ruin your tools.

That's the sum total of my knowledge.

fwiw, I knew what it was the first time I saw it. And I'm supah dupah impressed that you painted it! But hee! Now all I can see is the goat, the carrot, the garden gnome, the mold, the grapes, the witch from Wizard of Oz...man, that would make a great Rohrschack, or however you spell it, test.
