Bandwagon jumpage!

I threw in a bit of an assignment I wrote for my Creative Writing module in my second year of university. It got me the highest mark I achieved for the whole of my degree and prompted my teacher to go a bit doo-lally, comparing me to Jane Rogers (who I met later that year - she's lovely. Do read Island). It really does! Such a lovely idea for a meme, I wonder what other options are available? I know quite a lot of people got Stephen King, JK Rowling, Charles Dickens... I love that you got Joyce, he's awesome. My head hurt when I had to study a his novels, the guy was hugely intelligent - they're so proud of him over in Ireland, they've as many monuments and museums dedicated to him as Liverpool does for the Beatles! :)

Yeah, he's cool. ^_^

I have to defend Bret Easton Ellis, though. American Psycho is brilliant! Then again, I haven't read a whole lot of Palahniuk's stuff (mostly short stories), so maybe you're right. I should check more of it out, I suppose.

(And Johnny looks super cute with an eyebrow ring! *swoon*)

Ooh ooh! I love The Ellis, he's also in my top five and American Psycho is one of my all-time favourite novels. I read it for a Masculinity module and was pretty much hooked from then, I grabbed Less Than Zero and The Rules of Attraction straight afterwards. I've now read everything he's done apart from his newest which I'm looking forward to. I met him at a reading in Manchester back when he released Lunar Park and I was so schoolgirlish, it was embarrassing :S ( ... )
