I'm sorry for your loss.
This is really beautiful though, a wonderful tribute to her memory.

Thank you honey. All I was gong to write was about the sunflower and all the rest just came out. She was such a brilliant person, it's hard to describe her to people that never met her, or to put into words what a huge loss it is.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

I found this comforting:
'It is often said that something may survive of a person after his death, if that person was an artist and put a little of himself into his work. It is perhaps in the same way that a sort of cutting taken from one person and grafted on to the heart of another continues to carry on its existence even when the person from whom it had been detached has perished.' - Marcel Proust

Remember that part of her is living on in you.

Let me know if there's anything I can do. *hugs* xxx

Thank you hon. She was indeed an artist, and lives on in so many ways and in so many people. It is comforting. She has left so much to remember her by in so many ways.

This is beautiful - you have captured her so perfectly. Huge lump in throat. I now have to go and "have a cup of tea".
I will be thinking of you all, and Gan Gan, in two weeks time.

I just added a really lovely photo of her from her 80th. I have sent Dad a copy of the blog too.

I need to go make a new cup of tea as mine went cold while writing this. It just all came out at once, I guess it's been inside me for the last week and a half and needed to come out!

Dad used a fair bit of this in his speech, and said he thought I'd put some things better than he could. Praise indeed!

Gill Knibbs' brother was killed some months ago in a freak accident, and she used a little of what I said in my note to her in her speech at his service. Its incredible how proud and touched I felt, so I think I know how you must have felt. Especially as you had that difficult time feeling a bit lost and not a full part of the family.
