According to Elizabeth Kubler-Ross, when we are dying, or have suffered a catastrophic loss, we all move through five distinct stages of grief. Your friend could have decided one fine day that you are not worthy of her friendship and shun you forever.

I'm still reeling from it. I believe my friend forsake me just because he has a new girlfriend. =p
