It is indeed going to be awkward. I'm really interested in Carlos's purpose on the show, because it certainly won't be/won't have been easy for Callie to tell him about what's going on.

Oh this is good. REALLY good.
All I want this season if for Arizona to say "Calliope"(I try to keep my expectations low. lol), so simply reading it in your story made me squee. haha
Also, how in sync are they that they opened their doors at the same time to get the bear? haha love that - even if their timing could not be worse!

Looking forward to the second part :)

Haha low expectations are probably safest. I wanted to put it in somewhere, so I thought slightly sarcastic Arizona might say that. Maybe I'll try to work it into chapter 2 in a nicer way.

Right? They're totally in sync...and both have the same awful timing.

I was going to hold off until you posted the second part so I could read it all at once, but that resolve lasted about thirty seconds. DUDE. This is awesome. And as funny as the premise is (I feel like there have been romantic comedies where this happens...or am I making that up?), the tension, angst, and heartache lurking under the surface are what really make it work. I love how Callie still has feelings for Arizona despite not wanting to, and I love Arizona wanting to believe that Callie still has feelings but not being sure. And of course, I love Carlos showing up and being...well, Carlos. :P I can't wait to see where you take this!

(Also, side note: I really hope that on the show, he's just coming to visit and not because he needs medical help or something. In fact, can this fic just be what happens on the show? Kthanx.)

WHAT. No. NO no no. I didn't even think about that! Carlos needing medical help would break my heart.

I'm glad your resolve didn't last. :-P I was thinking of going straight comedy, but not only did I not think I could do that justice, that's not where they are. There definitely have to be some real emotions thrown in there. I think there have been romcoms like that. The Proposal (Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds pretending to be together for immigration purposes) comes to mind.
