Not really; for the bits I didn't understand I followed youtube videos. I think I could still improve those techniques a bit, but they got the job done!

I gasped really loud when I saw those. Gorgeous! I'm totally making a pair, I need slippers bad.
Are they a snug fit? Do they slide off your feet at all?

They can be as snug as you want them to be; you knit them according to how big your feet are. They don't slide off because they're tied around the ankles, so they fit kind of like those hidden socks you wear when you don't want them showing outside of your shoes.
