You ain't veretbrae, you just an evolutionary dead end

Only a couple things tonight:

-  I have to give the credit to my sis for linking me to Yoko Ono: A Feminist Analysis.  It's in five parts and incredibly fascinating, even to someone like me who can count the Beatles' songs I know on my fingers. ;)

- Elections, *sigh*  It was no fun for me watching the national results, but I'm especially sad about ( Read more... )

Oooh, I have to read that Yoko thing! Reminds me of this fantastic post about her presence on that Flowchart of Fail.

Yes, that post! As an non-Beatles fan, that flowchart has actually made me a lot more interested in knowing about her, so hey, a silver lining!

OMGS FRINGE. <3 Honestly, every time I think this show is going to fail somehow, or it starts disinteresting me because it's focusing on boyz or romance or something IT REELS ME RIGHT BACK IN.

ELLA. SHE REMEMBERED BECAUSE OF ELLA. I HAVE NOTHING BUT SQUEE.

I also totally understand why you don't ship Olivia and Charlie. I think I mostly ship them because I don't ship Olivia and Peter and want them to have a sort of sibling relationship (which is again different to a Kara&Helo BFFship, of course) and, I dunno. It's silly because ideally she could be BFF with Charlie and siblingy with Peter and I'd be superhappy, but I have this thing in my head where I feel that if she did get together with Charlie that'd put the Peter relationship very firmly back in the sibling dynamic (kind of how Sam did for Lee and Kara), and I'd be able to love that faux-family dynamic again cus I missss it.

So really I guess the question is, am I trying to force Helo into Sammy's role? OLIVIA NEEDS A SAM ANDERS.

THIS SHOW IS SO WEIRD THAT WAY. BUT AWESOME! And nerve-racking. o_O

This I completely get, and it does kinda surprise me that I'm not even vaguely shipping them right now since I've half shipped her with pretty much any appropriate character who's not Peter before. I think I'm just into the idea that his insight into her isn't based on Tru Wuv, since that is a dynamic I'd like to see more of. (ETA: Which is not to dismiss your reasons for shipping them, since I don't think that that statement likely has anything to do with why you do. Also, I'm not sure I knew you shipped them before this!) Um, everything said though, if she drags AltCharlie back and they get together, you really won't hear objections from me for pretty much your reasons! The Peter-Walter-Olivia family is always so fascinating, minus the Peter/Olivia sexual tension please ( ... )

Me too! Though I had also picked up a few people saying what a horrible artist she was, I'd never heard anything complimentary about her until recently.

Ella was so perfect, I don't even. The only thing wrong is that it's not the show all the time, no matter how unbearably awesome the implications are. I WANTS MORE. (And I'm willing to bet an awful lot that you do too.)

Your icon continues to practically the most adorable thing that was ever adorable though. <3

And twins/doubles/shapeshifters/etc. Ourlivia's definitely getting the best material here, but it's still fascinating to see what parts of their opposites lives fit easiest and where they're out of sync. Plus, now I'm extra hopeful that Rachel and Ella will figure into Altlivia's arc somehow. YES. This! I really hope Rachel and Ella will figure into AltOlivia's arc... and I hope Rachel's actress doesn't have anything conflicting in her schedule so she could appear ( ... )

I love that this show doesn't use cliche and that it shows different relationships and that the romantic relationship isn't the most important one.

Said better! I think this is really it, and is probably the reason I don't ship them while actually not minding at all if they get together. But I can totally see where the shipping comes from, which makes it a little baffling it hasn't hit me yet. Probably, it's mostly that I'm just happy with the focus on what they do have already, so I don't think about shipping them all that much.

Mostly because it kind of reminds me of Crews and Reese. And, uh. Yeah.

HEEEEEEEE. :)
