Fringe: 6B

*icon is the morally neutral Switzerland of this post, unlike me*

So, yeah.  That happened.

I really wanted to like this episode.  It had Walter discovering moral equivalency with Walternate, a couple good scenes with Nina, and Broyles (who beats the President at golf!) and Walter discovering what they're willing to do in a nice parallel to their altverse selves.  Basically, everything with Walter was fantastic.  My stomach dropped when he asked for the bus casefile (nice continuity show! A++), which he'd clearly considered before, and bless Olivia's quietly horrified face for knowing instantly what he meant.  Mrs. Merchant was a great one-off character.  The plot moved forward in an interesting way.

Unfortunately, there was the rest of the episode and THAT PREVIEW!  And I can't manage the mental gymnastics right now to love parts and want others to die in fire, BUT ESPECIALLY THAT PREVIEW. (Though, lol, I managed this a couple of times with BSG. XD) And it's almost a shame, since under different circumstances flashbacks to angry stolen!Peter, more Elizabeth Bishop, and teleporter-and-apparently-future-amnesiac Olivia would equal something I couldn't wait to see.  But not as a CURVEBALL TO CRAZYTOWN.

I'm also trying and failing to have an actual reaction to Peter/Olivia.  So far I have an urgent desire to go catch up on Fairly Legal, featuring a very special naked Michael Trucco, which obviously means denial* and also that I'm too tired by this unexpectedly crazy week to try hash out my thoughts tonight. LATER THEN. Olivia in this episode deserves at least her own post.

*Obviously what this means is there's a universe somewhere where Sarah Connor could use a hand with a robot apocalyse and Olivia can ditch the drama for awhile before bringing back her new girlfriend to help clean up. ;) It wouldn't take long. (Oh hi, new favorite crossover ship since recently when Kara/Aeryn was briefly a thing going around!)
