I'm glad to see my flisters have checked in and seem to be drying out from Hurricane Irene this past weekend.  A happy birthday to greycoupon and an (slightly) early one  to shahofblah too!

I'm also horribly behind on all new TV, especially the new episode of Doctor Who, which I'll have to watch tonight so that I don't have to hide during conversations at Dragon Con ( Read more... )

There was fun! And lots and lots of silliness. :)

*encourages* I picked them up as part of my larger dabbling in the strange world of comics, but these runs definitely seem like something you'd enjoy overall.

I'M NOT REALLY ON THE INTERNET RIGHT NOW BUT WONDER WOMAN AND COMICS AND BATWOMAN AND POWER GIRL (omgs so glad you liked that one) AND SANDMAN AND SUPERMAN: BIRTHRIGHT!

I haven't read any of Perez' WW run - anything you'd particularly recommend?

I love Watchmen but yeah, it's hard going, and honestly I kind of prefer the movie - the different ending really works and the visuals are stunning.

I think that DC continuity is something best not attempted to be understood clearly. It...kind of doesn't matter anymore anyway since bits and pieces of it now never happened and they'll tell us if they're important? That's my attitude anyway...

I think I heard a rumour of a movie in development for Runaways? But I can't find it again. :/ I think I may have to break my DC-only tendencies and try that at some point though...

HAVE FUN AT DRAGON*CON! :D

FUN WAS HAD. I AM *STILL* TIRED. :)

I *loved* Power Girl just because it's a comic that seems to have so much fun. I want to picspam all of her expressions! Thanks for reccing it and well, many of the DC comics I've ended up with recently. ;)

And I ended up kinda disappointed by the Perez collection I read, so I'll get back to you on that one... (I think with continuity the only thing I've run into trouble with is figuring out where these people come from? Or which origin story I happen to be reading. Sometimes characters like Nemesis will show up and it's *distracting*, but I roll on with it eventually. :D)

I've got a Runaways overview post planned as soon as I can track down some scans of the kids and that one scene where Gertrude summarizes, like, the entire series' philosophy in one snarky sentence. I think the movie might have fallen off the radar recently though, it was supposed to be up alongside the Avengers movie and that would have been fabulous, but I haven't heard anything in ages.
