no way there are 24 hours in this thing

Argh, here goes yet another week where I think that it's a shame I haven't posted today, but busy and there's always tomorrow AND THEN IT IS FRIDAY.  Anyway.  Baby steps, y'all.  I'm clearing through open tabs this weekend.

THINGS I HAD THOUGHTS ON WEEKS AGO

Doctor Who - Some really good bits in the last ep (Amy and River's scene near the end was fantastic and I LOVE ALL OF THEM SO MUCH. Well, Eleven less than the others.)  The overall thing didn't thrill me though? Probably part of the reason I wasn't as in love with this one is that the payoff for the 5th season was such a team effort with everyone being almost too fantastic for words, and this one was Moffat the Doctor pulling a cheap trick on the universe.  A little funny to crush all the whackamole fan theories, but I man, I kind of wanted it to be epic and ridiculous too. And I wanted a pony. Delivered by River Song, superhero.

In summary: clinging to all the individual bits I DID love and wishing the whole thing had been more awesome overall? Check. NEEDS MOAR RIVER AND AMY.

Fringe:Has been fabulous lately.  And now Peter's back.  I'm sure it's not much of a surprise I didn't miss him a heckuva lot or really notice his absence much since I was too busy with Walter and non-amnesiac Olivia navigating their new history and OH LOOK NINA SHARP HAS BEEN PARENTING OLIVIA HER WHOLE LIFE PROBABLY.  The episode with both Olivias is still my favorite so far, but this last one had so many nice things and I'll be crushed if they cut back on all the character interactions and stop fascinating me with this new universe.

Sidenote: CORTEXIKIDS.  I want to know everything, especially if Olivia's really never run into any of the others before.  I was annoyed though that they kept calling him 'Cameron'  after he made the point about why he's so justifiably bitter towards his father's name.  There might be a case for that being deliberate in Olivia failing to connect with the guy, but ouch.

At some point there's going to be shameless gushing a rec post for the webcomic Digger.  Which I loved unreservedly and with much joy.  And while I want to be all WHY ISN'T EVERYONE READING THIS? WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE WORLD?!, the official summary: A wombat.  A dead god.  A very peculiar epic. is probably a pretty good test of whether it's for you although it doesn't get anywhere near how brilliant the largely female characters are, how funny it is, or how well it fits together.  Bonus points for good research and anthropology. I'd say it was my gateway to webcomic enthusiasm (other advantages being that there are lots to find and many are FREE), but really I just want them all to be Digger.  I might also be rereading. Because you tend to miss things when you read 900 pages in an afternoon, funnily enough.

Oh, here's a link to the beginning. It's worth sticking through the first few pages until Ursula Vernon stops just playing with it and gets serious about telling a story.

I've also been reading other comics, though the only new DC monthlies I'm planning on sticking with right now are Batwoman and Wonder Woman.  My investment:frustration ratio is more likely to make me jumpy when I only have 20 pages to read instead of a WHOLE trade at least!  ;)

pyramidofdreams is still going strong on the Kara/Sam fic exchange.  I haven't read many yet, but all of them have been wonderful.

Also, this is internet old, but it's still cool that you can watch Star Wars in the Command Prompt.
