- I've started watching Game of Thrones ridiculously out of order. It's actually pretty fun!
(Reading the books years ago probably helped a lot with sense-making here. ;)
Season One I might've burned out on if I'd watched in order and, except for the last few, it's more often the kind of thing I fold laundry to and just oogle the pretty scenery and costuming. And occasionally fast-forward because, hello visuals I didn't want! There's a lot of uncomfortable, horrifying stuff on display and just, not enough of things I want to watch often enough to balance out for me usually. Funnily enough though, my library held the 4th disk for me first and it turned out to be a pretty lucky intro. Minus Petyr. So I'm catching up directly opposite second season episodes. :)
And Season Two! It's still all of that, though with messier, more interesting politics post-beheading Ned Stark (sorry Ned, it's true). But if I have to watch Craster's Keep and Jon's bad decision-making, there's even more of Dany, Cersi, Sansa and Melisandre's introduction to enjoy.
Including this:
BEST SCENE.
SCENE OF MY HEART!
I have complicated feelings about Cersi (though she's played by SARAH CONOR and always amazing to watch), but this scene focused an episode that was mostly about women and different kinds of power and I now love this show. Dammit.
Also, I saw Avengers on Sunday.
It was a fun explody thing. Am pleased. :)
- Bruce Banner! I didn't expect to need an exclamation point for the Hulk! Loved Mark Ruffalo here and all the science bonding with Tony was v. adorable.
- Poor Coulson. I'm sad you're gone, but more sad that you mostly just got to be fanboy, then martyr. It's not much for a guy I liked as a side character in the earlier movies.
- Of course, I would take a bathroom break when Natasha went to interrogate Loki. Tragic. Turns out I like her bunches when she gets more material than Iron Man 2 though. :)
Legend of Korra might have been weird to watch, except I was warned about the relationship triangles, so turns out I still had fun with it. And Fat Pabu. And the hilarity that was the War Bats captain. Oh, teenagers. Maybe the drama will die down now that they've worked some of it out here.
Now Korra and Asami can be friends, yes? And Pema will show up again. :)
After hearing the other bending team names in this one, "Fire Ferrets" is started to sound relatively badass, heh.
