Earth Day

Correct me if I'm wrong, but does the concept of Earth Day really make any sense? It's like, let's go out and do something nice for the environment today, but why don't we do that every day? I'll admit I could do more for the environment, but is one day really going to make a difference? I don't know enough about it all to say...

It should be called Human day, whatever we do to the earth, something will survive, I am sure the microbes in the rivers and streams are praising our name everytime we dump nutrient rich "pollution" into their water, one mans trash is another organisms treasure. We may ultimately make the planet inhospitible human life, but thats cool because 1) we got other planets, just waiting for us to terraform and 2) earth will survive, just with another dominant species.

And as to that "conserve power" crap, there is plenty of matter around for us to combust, fuse, and annihilate. Trust me, the sun (the biggest waste of energy in our solar system) will die loooooong before we EVER run out of material to convert to energy. Burn all the lights you want.
