I know... it's just that Show usually ups its game when it comes to the end of a season, and some of the plot holes have gotten just a little too big to ignore. But, hey. It's Show, and it's still fun.
Bananas! I kid you not. Three bananas and a 100 km drive. He even tallied them, the asshole. :p ♥
I'm sad about what happened to season 7. It started SO GOOD!! it had so many awesome possibilities and it just went puff. I'm still not over the way they got rid of Sam's hallucination storyline for once or what has happened with Bobby. So basically everything you said.
Most people says season 6 is worse, but the arc was wonderful and I loved the last episodes! but season 7 is a let down... where's the passion? Where is the anticipation? and where the hell is our SamnDean???
The episode was okay, and funny sometimes and our boys are awesome (though I wish they would stay on screen together longer) but pre-finale episodes can't be only okay, they must be great! where's the painful heart-twisting angst that we can always see in the last episodes? This was *not* a pre-finale episode, was a filler.
Well, let's held hope for the finale. It can only get better, I guess.
Right? s7 really started off so promisingly--genuinely terrifying villains, the boys slowly losing their long-cherished support systems, each of them in a messed-up place individually but stronger than ever as brothers. Then--I don't know. Show wanted to be clever and funny, I guess. Maybe the Leviathans are supposed to be some kind of modern metaphor, I don't know. And yes, I'm still disappointed that Sam's hallucinations have been dropped so abruptly, too.
At any other point in the season, this could've been a decent episode. As a lead-in to the finale? Could've been better. And like you said, not really feeling the passion from the boys right now.
Yeah, this is definitely not Show upping its game. Should I be hoping that some of the Sam&Dean plot is being saved for S8, and that's why we're stuck with this knockoff quest plot for the end of S7? I'd like this clutter cleared away, at least.
Show has done some spectacular finales, but plenty of shows I've loved have had disappointing finales, and I'm more a trees person than a forest person, so I can ignore overall arc most of the time. I'm very good at enjoying episodes like this, especially when Sam gets to say or do something cool. And I do suffer when the boys are both unhappy, especially when Sam is being inexplicably evil and/or silent. Most of S4 was like having my hair on fire.
Now that you sum it up, though, the business with Bobby is a cruel end to a graceful goodbye. Character arcs are the ones I take seriously, and having this mixed into it is darkening the silly.
That could be it. Possibly Show wants to start s8 relatively afresh.
I watch Show for the character arcs, too--whatever the issues with its mytharc, it's the characters that keep me coming back every time. But with personal storylines on hold right now, there is literally nothing to focus on but the plot. Like I said, right now, Sam and Dean are these two guys being pushed around by plot devices in order to activate a few more, so that something may be resolved.
I am so disappointed by what they've done to Bobby, I can't even.
I'm so BORED with this season and its sad because it was SO AWESOME to begin with. I just...want Sam and Dean. I don't care about Cas and what they did to Bobby is such a disservice.
I don't even have coherent thoughts. I barely care anymore. :/
That's the tragedy, isn't it? It started off so amazingly well, with so much potential. And now... it's kind of through-the-motions. Maybe they want to get the Leviathans out of the way for a more SamnDean focussed s8. I hope. But you're right. I can barely bring myself to stay interested in the past few episodes.
what they did to Bobby is such a disservice
I swear, if they keep ghost!Bobby for s8, I will most likely stop watching Show. Ghost!Bobby terrifies and disgusts me in ways I can't even fully articulate.
