5.5. PSYCHOKINETIC HUNTER! How cool is that? Now if only they'd gone down that road with Sam...
OMG tell me about it. Sigh. And I love how it's fine when it's another hunter- but when Sam was suddenly psychic it was all OH NO - EVIL!
The flashbacks over-saturation and fuzziness could be hinting at the artificiality or at least eh - manipulated quality of the memories - but maybe that's just how Sam's brain holds onto positive things now. Maybe he has to color/focus-code memories to keep the bad ones locked away. Lucifer memories are all ice-blue, Hell memories are black and red, and normal life ones are well, you know romantic jewelry-ad-esque?

Right?! I was surprised at how cool Dean was with the whole thing before I figured that Jones was probably like Missouri--maybe the psychokinesis was innate.
Urgh, I really hope Sam's head isn't being messed with--AGAIN.

2.5. Yes, it strikes me as so Sam to stand around and get as lost in thought as he can at the slightest provocation. He's so unhappy with this life. And clinging to happy memories isn't the world's worst coping mechanism, maybe, but it's also a sign that something is really wrong for him right now.
3.5. I think I'd be really disappointed if it ended up being unreal, because oh my God, how much has his mind been messed with already? If he imagined a whole year, it's a sign that he's finally snapped.
5.5. mmm, I don't know that this isn't part of a setup to go down that road with Sam, tbh.
Ah, I'm glad to have another Sam/Amelia fan around. I really like them. Sam has a certain flair for dysfunctional relationships, really. There's epic dysfunctional Sam and Dean, there's that excellent working partnership he had with Hallucifer in Repo Man, there's Sam/Amelia. He's great with things in fragments.
Did you notice he was rubbing his hand when he was having the awkward conversation with Amelia's father? There's something beautiful about GENRE there -- I mean, they've thrown Sam into what is essentially a sitcom situation, meeting girlfriend's judgmental father (with a twist right out of soap opera when Don turns out to be alive) and Sam's reaction to being in an episode of Friends is apparently to wonder if this is a Lucifer induced hallucination. SAM I LOVE YOU SO MUCH MARRY ME IF AMELIA GOES BACK TO DON even though I'm pretty much a cat person.
I understand. The bird represents God.

I kept missing parts of this episode when it was on because I kept racing between the TV in my room and the computer in the living room to work on a research paper, and I kept overestimating how long commercials would be (... and listening to too much Scissors Sisters on YouTube, but SHH, I'd rather sound overly responsible about school work). Think my favorite "light-hearted" episode is "The French Mistake" just for those malicious looks on Sam'n'Dean's faces when they all realized Virgil lost his mojo, and they started, like, bullying him and Virgil ends up running away while the boys are trying to go after him again. SORRY, VIRGIL, THEY'RE JUST A LITTLE VINDICTIVE
