This might be a good time to try Lynn Flewelling? :)
I've also been enjoying Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel Trilogy, but it's very dark and very...rated R. NC-17, even, in ways that are not everyone's cup of tea.
I found that Tamora Pierce's new YA books (The Beka Cooper ones) were a really satisfying thing to go back through. I plowed through the two of them available, and they were just my cup of tea.
Yeah, NC-17 is just not really my cup of tea. And I've actually read the Beka Cooper books, and am looking forward to the third. It's been the first time in a while I've really honestly enjoyed a Tamora Pierce series.
