Of course there's room. I just get caught up in the hype of working in a jewelry store. If I find a guy worthy of being a groom, though, a nice diamond would just be a nice perk. I think a diamond has really nice symbolism and is a very exciting part of the "process" of being in love, but it's not, by any means, the most important thing. Not even close.
