-The Basics-
The basic things that everyone is dying to know!
Name: Carmen
Age: 14
Story behind your username: I took two cool words and put them together.
Origins: ... origins? You mean... ethnicity? I prefer to be American.
Current location: Iowa

-Your favorites-
List 5 favorites for each. Then pick one from each of those five and explain why it made the list.
Bands: Anberlin
Muse
Fall Out Boy
Panic! at the Disco
Jack's Mannequin.
I'll pick to tell you about P!ATD because I feel like it. Basically, I like P!ATD because their CD has great variety and I feel like their debut was terrific but they have enough room to grow as an artist to keep me interested for years to come.
Songs: "Dance Dance Christa Paffgen" by Anberlin
"The Phrase that Pays" by The Academy Is...
"Kill the Messenger" by Jack's Mannequin
"Parker Lewis Can't Lose" by Fall Out Boy
"Hysteria" by Muse
I really like "Kill the Messenger" by Jack's Mannequin for no good reason. I think the song is well written, well recorded, and it really nifty to sing along to. And there are so many ways to interpret it as well. Not just about his illness. Plus, I used it for a HP song fanfic once. Gotta love it. :D
Movies: The Labyrinth
Garden State
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Finding Neverland
Dead Poet's Society
I love Dead Poet's Society because Robin Williams is in it (mega plus) and because it has a great message. It made me cry and it really got through to me. It had a lot to do with artistic things, but in a literary sense, and I love that kind of thing. :D
Books: Sunshine by Robin McKinley
Interview with a Vampire by Anne Rice
Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare
Th Geography Club by ? (I got it at the library and am too lazy to look on Amazon.com)
The Golden Compass Philip Pullman
Oooh, I love Sunshine because it was written so intelligently and had a very exciting plotline. It was a vampire story without excessive romance or blood. It was driven by character history and plot which is hard to find in the books I like to read. :D

-Free Time-
Free space to tell us what you do in your free time! Make sure you don't miss this one.
In my free time I like to sit around and listen to music while reading or writing. The other day I had a few hours of free time so I just wrote 15 pages of a story that had been lurking in my brain for the day. I'm still working on how to continue the story but it's coming along. :D I also like to think up ways to break up with my current boyfriend and I like to look around at band slash communities on LJ and eBay. In fact, I just got a jacket from eBay today... love it. <3

-The Old Days-
Ok, so we're getting a picture of you now, but what were you like when you were younger? I was... cute? In the dorky childish way...
What was your favorite crayola crayon color? Black. I was destined to be emo. I even asked my mother.
Tell us a funny story from when you were in elementary school: Once, I wrote, "I hate life" on the back of a worksheet in first grade. My teacher got really upset. But I really meant I hate school. She smelled really funny and was mean. This kid stepped on my finger once and she didn't do anything. Hey, I was a cry baby, but gimme a break! Yeah, so that's like, two or three things... oh well.
Go dig up a baby/childhood picture (if you can): No can do. None that are on the computer and, sadly, I lack a scanner. Or else I'd do it for you fine people.

-Speak Your Mind-
Tell us your opinions on these hot button topics. Answer as completely as you can, put some time into this!
Gay Rights: Homosexuals should have more rights. They should also get more respect, but that's a totally different arguement. Plus, being bisexual makes you really want gay rights a lot more.
Labels: Like, scene labels? Fun to have, annoying to disprove. Like when your grandparents call you goth and you're really just emo-alternative-yourself.
George W. Bush: *shrugs* I can't for another two elections, so I don't keep up with politics.
Straight Edge: Yay for straight edge!
Abortion: Okay in certain circumstances (rape) but not in others (getting high and not using protection). No offense.

-Emo Reject-
So why do you want to be here, and why do you belong? Let's find out!
How did you find out about emo_rejects? LJ Interest Search... on Mae perhaps?
What made you want to apply? Emo is rad and it seems like a cool community.
Why do you consider yourself emo? I like to be all "Uh, I'm emo" as a joke and then I just turned... emo. I guess. If people I knew knew what emo was, they'd call me emo, not goth. But the music I listen to is labelled emo and I like "emo culture" so I guess that qualifies?
What music do you listen to that would make emo elitists cringe? You mean, non-emo tunes? Um... BRITNEY SPEARS! Just kidding. Pretty much all my music is xcore emo. Sorry!
What's your most dorky reject moment? Never really been rejected... only been on one community before, __losertown and was accepted there... SOOO...

-And All That Jazz-
The stuff that every community wants from you.
Promote emo_rejects in another community, and show us the link: Can I do it in my own LJ? http://www.livejournal.com/~lament_phoenix/
Post photos of yourself, no less than 2, no more than 5: I just cleaned out my photobucket, so let's see what I can dig up...

Me in my dress... before Homecoming. Yay!

My back, just because this dress is way hot and I'll probably never wear it again.

AH! Blue eyeliner!

My butt at the bowling alley... hawt.
