So I'm hanging out at Nette's house, we just got back from being big nerds at Ushicon almost all day except for a few side trips. Lots of interesting philosophical discussions have taken place throughout the day, and I'm sure more will before we collapse. WOW, I'm tired. Oh, I got a new cellphone from Jake with a new number. One good thing came out of the Super Bowl, MTV is going to be fined. They have finally discovered that they have limits and bounds like everyone else.

Were you a Ushicon nerd or freak? Everyone should live the dream of having to pilot a giant robot to save the world.

FINALLY. That needed to happen like a billion years ago. How the heck did they get away with everything they did in the first place? And why the heck are they so freaking popular? I cannot STAND MTV. Bah.

We live in a country that is dominated by popular culture, based on leisure, entertainment, and mass consumption. This culture favors "vulgarity" and the "lowest common denominator." MTV is all about the popular culture and what the latest fad is.

Also, music artists should expect their music to be stolen via the internet if they do not make the preparations to protect their own property. When a grocery store installs security devices, it comes out of the company's own funds. Although some music artists have taken these security preparations, there are still many others who expect the government to take care of them.

Yup. I know, it's pretty horrible. There's a gleam of hope right now, imo, because young people seem to be becoming stronger, but it's still really disconcerting how much we base our actions on the stimulus that will come from it, instead of basing them on what is right and what is wrong. Just my .02.
