In the booth today, Jose, Derrick and I had a debate about evolution. Derrick said its impossible for evolution and Christianity to co-exist. I disagree. I am a firm believer in God, but as equally a believer in evolution. I think God orchastrates it. What do you all think? Think they can go hand in hand?

Im talking macro. From like monkeys to humans. He refuses to believe that food may have gotten to scarce in an area, causing them to branch out for food, putting them in a totally different enviornment that led to their change. I dont think its far off at all. ya know ya know?

Actualy there is tons of evidence supporting the evolution of humans. now Emokid, you show alot of ignorance (not saying your stupid, just not aware of the facts) in this. Humnans didnt evolve from monkeys, but both humans and monkeys come from a common ancestor. there are many many near human counterparts that died out long ago, and one we may have killed off. Theres cromagnum man, homoerectus, homosapiens (we are technical homosapien sapiens), and the species we may have killed of, Neandertals. Infact, we may have mated them into our gene pool, thusly proveing that humans and neadertals are the same species, only different xenotypes. Only members od the same species can effectivly breed (so those half human half klingon kids from star trek are imposible).

I believe that creation and evolution can co-exist. Like, God started out with the Big Bang, created the first multi-cellular organism (or unicellular, for that matter), and then sat back and allowed evolution to run its course. Actually, I think creation and evolution depend on each other. Each theory on its own seems incomplete, but together they start to make a little bit of sense.
Team work is the key, here.

I had to write a paper about this in religion. I don't see why Chirtian and Evolutionary theories can't co-exist.

Christian Theory answers the question of why we exist. The creation story is a story. And Evolutionary theory answers the question of how we came into existance. The Bible isn't scientific and Evolution isn't theology. Two different subjects here.

Personally, I think that there are two many gaps in Evolutionary theory for it to be scientifically correct, like it claims to be. But God hasn't proven anything to me either, so I don't believe that either happened.

I don't know how we got here, I just know that we are.
