Caliban's been spending a lot of time outside lately, but today is an exception. Wandering inside with actually a bit of color to his pale face, he looks pensive and serious as usual, if perhaps a bit more gloomy than he has. He's not sure - he's lost track of the days here - but he's pretty sure Niko's birthday is coming up, and for the first time

Ada Clare has, on the other hand, kept mostly indoors. She has little to do, being a generally shy sort of girl and knowing so very few people, and therefore has walked this hallway so often that she has ceased to pay any attention. This does not prevent her, however, from being completely mortified when she walks smack into Caliban.

Caliban jolts and steps back quickly, thoroughly startled. "Oh - Jesus, sorry about that, wasn't watching where I was going-"

Well, that's embarrassing. And that would be why he flushes bright red. Not because she's pretty and he's a hormonal boy, of course not.

"Nor was I," she says quickly. "Please forgive me. I should have been more careful--"

"Hey, it's all right, people run into me all the time," he says quickly. They don't, really. "Just not very observant, that's all - anyway, yeah, I'm really sorry about that." He laughs, a bit ruefully, and looks down at his shoes, feeling awkward.
