a page from the latest chapter of Tsubasa, there is no Kamui in it, it technically has nothing to do with X at all, but I found it relevant.
It's the same as what a lot of people have told Kamui in X, and from the way the series looks to be going, I can't help but wonder if it will be similar to what CLAMP wanted to do for X originally. There's so much about wishes and wishing in these two canons, particularly Holic, but this page just struck me in just HOW much it resembled X. The next few chapters will be interesting in character development, I think, just… the choice! that will have to be made. Kamui first chose to "protect the place where Fuuma and Kotori can live happily" and thus destroyed both Fuuma and Kotori.
He then chose his wish "to save Fuuma" which he repeatedly stuck by despite everything that happened:
-- Even though he might hurt Fuuma in the process, Kamui
tells Kakyou, "I've decided… I will bring Fuuma back."
-- He
told Subaru, "I've caused you…to suffer such a grevious injury, and I've gotten Saiki killed, but even so, I still can't give up on Fuuma…"
-- As he goes to school
his thoughts go, "Kotori… I may be making a mistake, but… Even if it is a mistake, I will get Fuuma back."
Three examples of many. But then, at the
end of X (as much of an "end" as we got anyway), Kamui seems to have realized something. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT THIS SOMETHING IS. Does he stick by what he's repeatedly said his wish is, despite people (Fuuma in particular) telling him over and over "your true wish is not what you think it is" or did he actually realize what his wish is? What IS his true wish? Which ends up bringing me back to the
speculation log/comments I have in this journal.
Depending on what CLAMP does with Tsubasa, it might finally clear some stuff up about X. Or it won't at all. We'll see.
