They were in the suburbs of New Hampshire, picking up the equivalent of a full grown Jersey Cow in groceries because Jensen's sister had insisted that while she had no problem with them staying at her house, she couldn't afford to feed people who ate like they’d never see food again.
“Jakey?” Jensen froze in the motion of dropping a bag of apples into the grocery cart. He knew that voice. Cougar was giving him the look and Jensen shrugged at him, wondering how fast they could get out of this situation. “Oh, it is you.” The woman bounced over, getting raised eyebrows from Aisha as she took in the man-made woman. Everything about her was fake, from the roots of her platinum blonde hair, to the tan that was barely covered by a couple scraps of flimsy cloth in the form of daisy dukes and the tube top that was only just holding her magnificently sculpted breasts back.
“Uh...hi Bambi.”
“Jake Jensen, I could just slap you silly. The TV said you were dead, and here you are, shopping for apples.”
“Jensen, you mind filling us in?” Clay sounded partially amused and mostly wary. Assassins could come in any form, even ditzy-slut Barbie.
“Oh uh..” Jensen cast a frantic look around, scouting for any exits. He swallowed when Cougar's hand landed on his shoulder and squeezed. “This is my ex....wife.”
“You...you were married?” Pooch managed before throwing back his head and laughing as if he would burst. Aisha was still staring at the woman, half intrigued and half disgusted by what American's saw as beauty. Clay was not-so-subtly checking her out, angling his body forward for maximum flirting potential.
Cougar was silently fuming, mouthing curses in Spanish at not only the awkwardness of the situation, but also at how Jensen's eyes seemed to have glossed over at the sight of his ex-wife. She noticed it as well, the way she was twirling a strand of hair around her finger and smiling up at him, batting fake eyelashes and smiling like a woman on the cover of Penthouse Forum.
“You uh, you still coaching girls soccer Bambi?” Jensen asked and there it was, the reason he'd married her.
“Uh huh. I got offered a position to coach the Marigolds. They're doing really well.” Bambi fluttered her eyelashes and pouted prettily.
“You...you coach those inmates?” Bambi blinked, not realizing the sudden danger she had put herself into. Cougar smirked, his hat shading his face. He stepped forward, laying a casual hand on the small of Jensen's back and leaning in to speak in a low whisper. Jensen's hands were white knuckled on the cart handle and Cougar flicked a glance over to Bambi, feeling delicious and vindictive when he ran a finger over the back of Jensen's hands. She was watching the two of them intently, trying to become the wolf when she was only a lamb.
“Jakey, who is this?”
“Uhhh...this is Cougar. He's....we're....it's complicated.” Jensen finally decided, wary of Cougar's smirk and the way it had spread across his face in the last thirty seconds.
“Mi Corazon.” Cougar purred in his ear and Jensen gave him a lop sided smile. “Mi único.” The hacker shot a hurried look over at Clay who was pretending to be fully engrossed in a conversation about cars with Pooch. “Mi amor.”
“Oh Geez Cougs.” Jensen muttered, blushing and butting Cougar shoulder with his own. “Yo también te quiero. Ahora cállate.” Cougar chuckled and dropped his hat on Jensen's head, wandering off to find his favorite candy now that he didn't feel the need to worry about Jensen's loyalty.

“So your gay now?”
“How about you go talk to the muscle head by the lettuce, he seems more your type.” Aisha commented, fingering the tip of a rather large knife that had seemingly appeared out of nowhere. Bambi blinked in horror and then looked over at Jensen who shrugged, fingers tapping the brim of Cougar's hat.
“I'm so glad we got a divorce.” Bambi muttered and Jensen snorted out a laugh.
“Uh huh. And you sleeping with my former team leader had nothing to do with it.” The expression on Bambi's face was murderous.
“YOU KNEW ABOUT THAT?”
“How stupid do you think I am.”
“Can I answer that?” Aisha asked, snickering at the half hearted glare Jensen sent her way. “You need to move on Barbie. I wouldn't want to be in your shoes when Cougar gets back.” She leaned forward, crinkling her nose in a terrifyingly nice smile. “He doesn't share.”
Bambi left.
