so, prop 8 passed in california.  they gay adoption ban passed in arkansas (where there are over 3000 kids in foster care and only 1000 foster homes).  EVERY SINGLE anti-gay ballot initiative passed.

is this what they mean by hope & change?

It means the beginning of the Homosexual Intifada. You'll have to provide your own beret (I'm only slightly kidding)

Kinda funny how this news got lost. I mean, there was a lot of big news last night but this stuff was pretty important too. It is awfully disheartening.

i would completely support such an endeavor.

right now i'm listening to crossed out and eyehategod and pretending that i'm committing severe violence against prop-8ers.

Additionally, proposition 2 passed giving specific to farm animals. (note: I am in favor of this).

Yet the ballot initiative giving equal rights to people who had no choice in what they are failed.

I have mixed feelings today.

the hope and change is yet to come.

though yes, it is terrible that so much anti-gay legislation passed.

i wasn't trying to pin it on anyone other than the people who voted for it.

it just galls me that the majority of california voted for a progressive candidate, and the majority of california also voted for a reactionary policy. i'm not sure to what extent they overlap, but it's just so disheartening.

so, every time something bad happens to america, there's a real and legitimate reason for it. everytime something bad happens to america, people always rush to blame it on people of color, women, or gays.

people of all races voted against prop 8. blaming it on black people (which you are definitely doing, so don't try to tell me you are not) is dumb and counterproductive.
