i’ve been down this road before, or rather i’ve stood at a crossroads much like the very one that faces me now.  i’m no longer happy in school.  i’m no longer willing to drive through all this mud.

on some levels academia is deeply and intensely satisfying.  but for one, the idea that i’ll ever become a professor of anything officially sanctioned

yeah, sorry that letter was so weighed down with sentimental semantics, but that long rant about you and us just came straight from me, the whole-what is it-three pages or so just suddenly like lightnight.

it's so good to hear that you don't mind that i'll never be a guy with a degree, because you're really the only one i was slightly worried about, but this only confirmed what i thought you'd say, a show of support.

so, how far away from the Haute is Bloomington? with any luck, after this lease is up . . . well, you know. ;)
