LOL Exactly!
We don't have storage space - my parents helped us buy a shed last year so we can finally have the lawnmower at OUR house, instead of having to schlep it to & from their house (15 minutes away, not bad) every couple of weeks during the summer. There's just all kind of fun things that you never thought of when you rent that suddenly you've got to deal with.
Our next "big" job to tackle is fixing some floorboards and replacing the contractor-cheap-inefficient-energy-hog appliances. The air/heat unit needs to be first and that's several thousand dollars. Ugh!

Painting is low on my priority list, but I do want to get some chalk paint for my son's room. We have neither a concrete driveway nor sidewalks, so if he wants to use the chalk he just got, I'll have to make a space inside. And chalk paint is just cool!

Someday I hope to own all of a house. Well, you know, *we'll* own all of a house.

Right now I think I own about 12.5% of said house. A small percentage, indeed!
