Maple Sugar Days: Part 1

This weekend was part one of Maple Sugar Days at Deep River State Park in Merrillville. We were making maple sugar "the old way". You should come see us next weekend (May 15-16). Jen and I will only be there Sunday though.
Here, the voyageurs boil the maple sap in buckets about a large fire.
Brian here does the same.
I, meanwhile, kept watch on the river.
Jen was there too, trying to stay warm by the fire.
The habitants had a display up front of daily life in the 1750's, as well as some trade goods for the Indians.
I, too, had an impressive display.
However, the clouds soon darkened, and the temperature dropped.
And Sawesbike knew it was time to venture on.
