sometimes when i'm sitting somewhere in my house a part of the wall or the floor will just spontaneously creak. after seven years of living here i still can't get used to these house noises. house noises are different from apartment noises. in an apartment you can blame any odd creak or thump on your neighbors, but in house all the noises are

my house was built in the late 1860's early 1870's. i definately feel ya on the odd house noises, but i've lived here my whole life and the noises still get to me at times. and since i live in my attic, when it gets windy, my whole friggin room shakes and the furniture sways a bit if it's strong enough.
