Your gonna love me…When I saw you behind that table alone in class I wanted to run up and hug you. So I walked up to your desk and opened my mouth to speak but I saw the picture on your screen and stopped. I could never be good enough, good enough for you to leave them, I thought. I ran out the door dropping my paper on the floor. I saw you pick it up through my foggy, tired eyes and you looked at it curiously. I sat down next to the door, contemplating leaving. I turned to look down the hall again and I saw you running my way. You wrapped your arms around me and I let my tears overtake your shirt. You told me you didn't know the love I felt for you and I laughed through my tears. I told you that I did ever since the first time I saw you. You laughed and held me tight. You hugged me until I asked you about your family and I will never forget what you said.
“For you, they can wait for me.”
But one of these days,
I'm gonna love me…
