help_japan in order to raise funds for the earthquake. Surrounds the feeling of spiritual and inner emotions of Shinra and Celty with the relationship they have.
Surprising how he could always tell how she was feeling.
Without her face, it was nearly impossible to grasp the emotions she gave off. Body language had always been there, yet somehow that made her more alienated from the others. Even speaking through her phone wasn’t the same as being able to hear her voice raise or wither at the slightest tinge of her emotions ebbing and flowing within the darkness of her heart. Even he could, somehow, feel the longing to hear her own voice call out for someone she was friends with.
Only he was able to hear her voice from the mouth she was missing, not the clicking of her phone.

There wasn’t a day his mind didn’t go without thinking of her.
How could you forget someone as beautiful as the woman living in that house? He had told her every day there wasn’t a need for her head, that she was beautiful the way she was. Why couldn’t she hear him when he spoke like that? One would respond with a simple answer of the obvious that she had no ears to hear from and that she couldn’t even see, but he knew better. Her soul was what vibrated with each drop of his voice; there was no need for ears or eyes to hear and see how his love encased her so securely.
If only she could see it just as he did, then he’d be able to hold her whenever he wanted. He would never wish for that desire to actually come true. Doing so would cause the destruction of who his heart beat for. To destroy the one you love to change them for your gain would only prove how you didn’t love them.
And if you did, how your heart would wither without the same presence that once resounded in each beat.

“Shinra… have you ever thought of being with another person?”
Just reading that text alone caused him to stare, food partially hanging from his mouth as he comprehended what she was getting at. Never had he shown interest in anybody else nor would he even consider something so absurd. Smiling around his food, he finished eating as he set the bowl down, moving to rest a hand on her leg and lean forward.
“Why would you ask that, Celty? You aren‘t jealous of someone, are you?” Meaningless teasing was the only thing he was trying to get out of it. Celty, on the other hand, got nothing but the feeling of being attacked in a painful way. Brushing his hand off her lap, she stood up and glared down at him with the eyes that had been taken from her so long ago.
Even the sharp intake of breath could be heard from the voiceless matter spewing from her neck.
“If you’re going to mock me on feeling something like that, then why even bother keeping me here? Is it something you want to see how long I can endure?” Fingers sped across the keyboard of her phone, the clicking surrounding them in endless ricochets against the listless walls enclosing them. Shinra could only stand up as he held his hands up in a defenseless manner, trying to think of a way to calm her down. “Is this just another experiment to you, Shinra?!”
Those last words shot through him like a bullet, his face easing into another smile compared to the worried expression it retained earlier. “Celty, there’s nobody but you,” he cooed, letting his voice entrance her and settle her aching nerves. “I would never experiment on you unless it were to involve feelings that belonged to you and me.”
Footsteps echoed lightly as vibrations set way to his stride in her direction, his hands resting upon the invisible barrier where her head would be if she were to still have it. Lips got closer to her as she stood silently, unsure of how to respond to this type of interaction. His eyes were closed, but she could feel his gaze even through the shut lids.
“Because I love you, and your permission would come first before any experiment I could think of.”
She could feel his lips on her soul, soothing her and giving her the kiss she could never have.

Days always passed when they never did anything but sit around the apartment. Those days were the most relaxing to Celty, not having to deal with Izaya or the intricate feelings of everybody around her. It was hard enough to deal with her own let alone someone who asked her a question or wanted her advice. That is, to say, if she were to stop and allow something like this to happen despite at a stoplight when she felt the need to abide the rules.
There wasn’t a need for the police to chase after her again, and she’d prefer if they didn’t.
“You’ve been content today, Celty,” Shinra’s voice chimed, a happy feel engulfing them as he smiled wholeheartedly in her direction. Tapping of the controls filled the silence as he waited for a response, the thick substance the only thing easing from her body while she focused. “Ah~. I know what you mean, it’s been such a relaxing day!” He responded as if she spoke to him in regards of his earlier statement.
No words could fill her swollen heart on how relieving it was that he could understand the feelings of a myth.

Sharing a bed was never a problem with either of them since the doctor came of age.
It never hit her as to why Shinra had been so entranced with her until later on. Having slept in the same bed for so long, his father focusing on her for experiments and test runs. Not long after realizing this, she couldn’t help but understand the reasons behind his focusing feelings on her. Being teased with a woman next to him, albeit headless, while not having any true relationships all through high school.
How he could be attracted to someone like her baffled the woman.
Not once did she complain, though. Even if she did question if he were to desire to be with someone else or even without her in his life, she would never complain. Doing something like that is the same as pushing people away. Being accepted, loved, desired… it was something she couldn’t help but long for. Every heart needed nurturing, every soul to feel warmed by the touch of another, dancing together in the harmony of two bodies becoming one.
“Will this change if I find my what I‘m looking for, Shinra?”
Typing only took a second before she held the phone up to the man laying next to her. Cracking an eye open, he reached over for his glasses to get a peek. A laugh followed as he rested against his pillow as if he just woke from the sweetest dream. “You mean how I feel about you, right?” The thought of her caring as she did tickled him. Shaking his head, he sat up and leaned closer to her, caressing a lump of shadow that rolled past his hand.
“As much as I love you just the way you are, my feelings won’t change for you.” A smile accompanied that statement as his mouth opened to continue speaking. “I’ve told you this before.”
“And what about my feelings? Will they change because of something I lost?”
Shinra could feel the emotion pouring from the text, taking a deep breath as he leaned back against the headboard. Closing his eyes, he took time to think, moving his hand down to brush his thumb against her shoulder. “Things come and go, Celty… they get lost and found, sometimes exchanged,” he began, feeling his heart accelerate as he tried to word it properly.
Messing up his wording now could mess up a lot for them both for the night.
“But we can’t choose what we have taken from us or what we get in return when the time calls for it,” he chuckled, leaning against her body as he moved his hand down her curves. Tension rose as she was shifted, listening and sighing silently as he gave her physical love. “The best we can do is enjoy it while we have it and do our best to keep it with us as long as we can, which is why I’ll do my best to keep you with me no matter what.”
Closing his eyes, he moved to kiss at her neck, letting a hand slide under her shirt to feel her silky skin beneath his own. “Even if you get your head and your memories, my heart will belong to you and you’ll belong to where I am. Nothing will change this,” he murmured, trailing kisses down her chest while pressing his body closer.
Giving in, she confided in his words, allowing them into her pulse to course through her entire body. This was the first night she would let him love her as though they were true lovers and not merely partners.
It was time for her to embrace him with arms wide open.

Despite all of their minuscule fights and their small clashes on crossing subjects, they knew deep within they were made for each other. Even if they were opposed by outside forces, it wouldn’t matter as long as they had each other to hold and stand with. His loving caresses and her soundless sighs were all they needed in this world of fairytale. Neither of them were perfect, nor did they ever plan on making each other change to fit that ideal image.
Being able to see into their flawless imperfections was what perfected their existence.
