Thanks Bro, actually you're a big reason I am still here on LJ. I find your posts entertaining for the most part, even if you do whine about your job all the time........who doesn't? lol

See now as a non smoker, i'm all for the non smoking bans in restaurants and things...partly because if somebody can't sit through an entire meal without needing to light up like 8 cigarettes...they need a 12 step program. I work in a restaurant and it boggles my mind how many cigarettes some people will go through in a 45-60 minute period of time. It's kinda gross.

I grew up in a family of smokers..am the only non smoker..and even now when I go home for visits I come back with the smell in every fiber of my clothing...even the things that never left the confines of my duffle bag. That's just nasty.

I also find it amusing how alot of smokers have no respect for the non smokers around them...it's all about smokers and their rights to smoke where they want..what about a non smokers rights to be able to breathe while they are out and about trying to have fun? Somehow there has to be a middle ground. I know I get tired of picking up the slack for my co-workers who like to disappear for 10 minutes or so to grab a cigarette...

What it really comes down to is majority rule. The big problem I have is that as a society we are telling Mr bar owner or Mr restaurantier what they can and cannot do with their own business based on what we think is right or wrong. If someone wants to cater to smokers then people who don't like that can go somewhere that caters to them. To me it's just another fleecing of americans rights. And the losers are us. Where does it stop? It still remains to be seen how constitutional this smoking ban is. I venture to guess it will fail again like it has many times before. Time will tell.
