i think it's big of you that you can forgive your friend for wrongdoings in the past and still keep ties between you two

sometimes people think that if someone's drunk they won't even comprehend what they're saying, and so don't bother. so i think it's good that you were honest with him about what you thought of his actions, despite the fact that he was kinda silly

i think it was nice that you kinda strayed off topic shortly after he'd say something heavy, because even though you responded and got your point across i think it might've eased any tensions by lightening the mood and taking his mind off of his problems for the duration of your convo...
