I have new running shoes.  That is all.

Today I learned an off-colour phrase in Japanese: 穴兄弟 (ana kyoudai), which translates to "hole brother," and refers to the relationship between two men who have had sex with the same girl.

Word up to all my hole brothaz out there.

There is a parallel term, ぼうしまい (bou simai), which translates to "pole sister".  Hawt.

Today I learned that one can buy horse semen on Kijiji.

I went to a rave on Friday.  This was being projected on the wall for something like 20 minutes, in the middle of a series of other odd videos.

Just wanted to link a really good essay I ran across by an unrepentant militant atheist on the problems with moderate believers, because that stuff drives me crazy.

I am a big fan of the Blag Hag blog by Jen McCraight.  She's an atheist blogger who is doing work in genetics out in Seattle, and her blog gets read and linked by such diverse elements as Dan Savage and PZ Myers.

Anyway, she has complained in the past that the atheist community seems to be made up mostly of men, and that one of the reasons for this ( Read more... )

Apparently, OkCupid was bought by Match.com, and took down their OkTrends article where they explain why you should not pay Match.com or Eharmony.com for dating services.

I expect a paywall within 12 months... :/

I just bent my thumb backwards at the grocery store putting back a shopping cart.  I have no idea how I have injured myself so profoundly doing something so routine, but it still aches quite intensely.  I think that the best explanation is that I am now old, and so I must live in fear of random injury.  I think it's starting to swell. :/
