Facebook

I enjoy Facebook for entirely different reasons than everyone else. I love seeing who the fuck adds me, and then figuring out how they found my thing. I love to figure out the little interconnecting webs, and wish I could ask quite simply: "HOW'D U FIND ME ( Read more... )

Yea, they wrote an article like that about facebook in Macleans. Some people admitted they would have NO sical life if it weren't for facebook.

I think I am one of those people. I have gone out the past few times only with people who have invited me to stuff through facebook.

Oh well, I AM thankful for not being a hermit! :D

i actually would have talked more about this stuff, but i was so tired i made it that kind of rambly thing.

yeah. i find myself sort of checking it in spurts. I don't actually have any of my cal friends on it, but that's really purposeful. I like to talk about my shit with them, instead of just 'saw it on facebookz'

Hahaha, I HATE IT when I am talking to someone telling them a story, and they are like "I saw that on your lj/facebook"

I'm like DAMNIT. Just pisses me off. I usually continue telling the story like I didn't hear them. hahaha

Facebook is retarded.
Mostly it's people I haven't talked too since highschool on it anyway, There's a reason neither them nor I decided to keep up the friendship.
Also, I don't know how much I can see people saying "woah my god, we got so drunk this night, this is a picture of me vomitting! wooo"

A couple good things have come from face book!
1. I love pictures of Friends and Family. I don't have a digital camera so I rely on others for pictures.
2. A good friend I had in high school that was in grade 12 when I was in grade 9 found me and it's been really good catching up with him.
3. Another person from high school that really used to pick on me and call me down found me on Facebook and apologized. It always feels good when that happens.
4. I desperately needed a reference for a job this summer and an old manager from BP's found me on facebook and now i have a good reference which i wouldn't of had otherwise because she moved to Edmonton and we lost touch.

So yah, it can become addicting, and there a lot of people on my friends list that I will probably never talk to, BUT you never know when it may come in handy to have somebody you kinda know at your finger tips.

It's good for keeping track of where former travel buddies are. Like, "Hey, you're in the same country as I am! Let's hook up!" Because I can't actually expect anyone to email me to say they're flying to blank for the weekend on the off chance that's where I'll be, can I?

Anyhow, that's what I got it for at least. :)
