We should go see Ted Leo / the Pharmacists and French Toast at Go! Room 4 in Carrboro instead!

GoGoGo Airheart

Kacy, GoGoGo Airheart is going to be such an improvement. They were playing this funky, dancey dub for a long time, and then they blasted into this unbelievable speed bass and drum sequence, which just washed over me. If you don't know what dub is, a lot of people don't, then it's basically bass-driven music with spacey sounds. Also, it's kind of rooted in Jamaican music and spawned reggae, but I think I've heard you talk about reggae roots and ska. Lee "Scratch" Perry, Bob Marley's rival, invented dub, and dub is popular amongst underground punk rockers like Ian MacKaye, Outhud, and Sonny Kay. GoGoGo Airheart is just three members: Mike and the bassist, whom are the original two members who started the band, and a drummer they had on tour, the first time I saw them play in Greenville. I think this drummer is better than the last one. This drummer just blows anyone away. I asked him about the name, and he told me they were just GoGoGo until they added a female; so they added the Airheart to sweeten up the name. When she quit
