Rollin' in it

Graeme flew in last night, though I don't think it was for me. At any rate, Bob told me today that my pay increase would be four grand.

I'm still not sure how to feel about this.

Congratulations, Mike. I read your last post, so understand your misgivings on the matter - but it was their choice to make, for whatever reason/s, and you should try to accept it on the positives. Good luck.

Thanks, Catt!

I don't know why I feel like I do. I know I deserve this, I know I've worked for it - harder than anyone else here, and yet there's still something haunting me about the whole thing.

Is it because you think they're expecting it to change your current demeanour? I'd feel the same way - obliged. To do something that must occur organically, and without additional pressure (aside from the pressures you put upon yourself). Kinda like parents who offer rewards for improvement in grades.

If you're having a tough time of it (being inspired, motivated, feeling positive re: your workplace and your role in the workplace), then this could make things worse. But I could be totally wrong here.

As said before, try to concentrate on the positives. And be good to yourself. Allow yourself the time necessary to get to where you want and need to be.

Man, I need to get curtains for my office window. Catt's been peeping in on me again!

*blush*

I think you got it exactly right. And perhaps I'm feeling a bit for others around me who haven't gotten the rewards I have.

Or maybe I just need some serious therapy...
