It wasn't that she hid or suppressed things. It wasn't. They were just... irrelevant. Especially now, after the Shadows were gone and life had become slightly less dangerous. She wasn't hiding them, they just never came up, that was all ( Read more... )

Akihiko used the mirror to hop back to Iwatoudai, letting Jack know that he'd be gone for the evening. He had a cellphone that Torchwood could use to contact him if there were an emergency, so he wasn't worried about that.

Besides, his girlfriend took priority, even though he knew she wouldn't be thrown off that badly by a simple dream.

He reassured himself that she probably had had dreams like this a long time - but that just worried him all over again.

Reaching the door to her fabulous penthouse suite, he knocked and straightened his gloves nervously. Even after all this time, it was still a bit weird to be dating Mitsuru.

She opened the door with a practiced smile; she wasn't too horribly shaken by the dreams any more, ever since she'd started thinking of them as a necessary subconscious sorting out of memories that should have little to no effect on an organized thinker such as herself, but she had to admit they occasionally put a bit of a damper on her day. "Come in," she said, standing aside to let him pass. "Was it too hard to get away?"

He entered the suite, offering her a smile in return, but noticing that hers seemed a little forced. "No, not at all," he said. "We're sort of in between crises, which means something could come up any second, Jack knows my number if he really needs me."

Hopefully, they wouldn't be interrupted.

He held up a small bag. "I brought ice cream and a movie," he said, slight abashed and hoping that he hadn't gone too far or done something silly.

Her smile softened a bit into something more genuine, and she took the bag from him and walked the few steps into the kitchen to take the ice cream out and put it in the freezer. "I've had nothing but meetings and study sessions all week," she said over her shoulder. "A quiet evening with ice cream and a movie would be just the thing."
