blow job references aside, i actually do NOT think non-barnard students should be able to sign themselves into barnard dorms. IMO most men are brutes, rapists and thieves until proven otherwise and i happily lived in barnard dorms for the first couple years of college. i found the sign in process for my guests a MINOR inconvenience to bear for my safety.

your thoughts?

Isn't there a liability issue with this? My understanding was that one of the main reasons they don't allow Barnard students to just swipe into CC/SEAS dorms was that they haven't signed papers with URH (or whatever they call it now) to make them responsible for any damages they may cause. When someone signs you in, they are taking responsibility for anything you do in violation of URH policy. That could be fixed pretty easily for Barnard students (just have an agreement between URH and Barnard's housing people), but since GS students generally don't live in dorms, it seems like a bigger problem there. Then again, commuters and 3-2 students living in UAH buildings can get swipe access, even though they don't live in URH buildings. There's some paperwork there though (takes 5 minutes in the ID office in Kent ( ... )
