Because I keep forgetting how I make gifs!

Ta DA!

.) Watch hours of footage to find those five seconds of priceless gif material. This is like sifting for gold.

.) Take note of the exact seconds the footage plays for.

.) Open Virtual Dub Mod. Scoot along to the time, press play to make sure, then go back to the beginning and press Stop at the first desired frame. Hit the 'start selection' key. Press play. press Stop at the ending frame of the desired scene. Hit the 'end selection' key. File>Save Image Sequence, and find a place to stick the frames. Follow prompts, wait for it to process.

.) Double check all the frames are in the folder. Delete any extra, unneeded frames from the beginning and end.

.) Fire up photoshop. Take the first image and shove it in there. Open the 'History' window and click on Actions. Hit the record button and make all the adjustments (crop, scale). Press Stop.

.) File>Automate>Batch. Make sure all the settings are correct. Hit Okay, watch the pretty files batch crop and resize.

.) Double check to make sure nothing has exploded.

.) Open up files in Irfanview (optional, just easier for me) and add the text in the selected spot. Double check.

.) Curse the fact that you neglected to check output folder. Remember that for next time.

.) Open up Easy Gif Animator. Run through the wizard with adding files, and add a time between 0.01sec and 0.10sec to start with.

.) Wait for wizard to finish. Check timing. If timing is too fast or slow, fix it. Test over and over. When satisfied, output the file.

.) Spend the rest of the evening hypnotised by the sexiness you've created.

That's all! :3
