I have a question...and I'm being serious, so don't laugh. Whenn you call 911, how do they know where you are? I know that you should tell the but what if the conversation went somthing like this

I think the phone call doesn't go outside of your state, so they won't think that you are anywhere but Georgia.
I know they can trace a land line and that's how they know where to send the ambulance/whatever.
As far as cell phones...satelittes (sp)? Ask Ms. Tallman, i think i remember her saying that she did some work with bellsouth or something. maybe she knows - or if you don't want to ask her then ill do it for you because it is pretty interesting and i wanna know too.
when a cell phone calls 911 it goes into panic mode and starts emitting a signal to be tracked. its in all phones from the past 3 or 4 years and is incredibly hard to turn off. you have to take it into the store or take your battery out while its on to reset it. but as i said it emmits a signal to be tracked the second you dial 911 on a cell. and tracking the landline is correct for a noncell phone. (my sister runs a cingular store, and my mom works for a company that runs bellsouth stuff)
