Batman Begins to Make Me Really Like Him

I must say that I was not all too psyched to see this movie, but Philip was absolutely chomping at the bit in excitement, and I do love that Christian Bale, so I tagged along. Seriously. I've had a crush on the man since he played Jim in the TBS 1992 TREASURE ISLAND with Charleton Heston. My reluctance to see this fifth installment in the Batman ( Read more... )

Hmmm maybe it's worth going to see afterall then. I was less than excited about the idea of going to see it so Bryan went to see is this evening with his 3 guy friends. "Boys night out" I'm sure he'll tell me allllll about it, including a huge long gushy bit about how Christian Bale is so hot (I have no idea who this guy is)

You should point out to Bryan that Christian Bale's abs are much nicer than his, thus sending him into a downward spiral of self hate, depression and chocolate chip cookie dough-eating madnesss.

I thought that it was probably the best movie I've seen all year. But, I'm a huge geek, so I like these kinds of movies. Bale is super pretty though, so you can look at him if you get bored.

That's who he keeps comparing himself to. Bryan is all like "how come Christian Bale can get so jacked and look so good. I want to look like that" I'm getting really sick of replying with "well, Christian has a different body type, has the money to spend on a personal trainer, and isn't busy writing his phD thesis, so he actually has time to focus totally on getting jacked"

I'm getting so fed up that I'm just ignoring the issue, and even went so far as to e-mail him a few minutes ago suggesting we go see a movie and then get sundaes at Friendly's after. hehehe I'm so bad. Downward spiral of self hate, depression and chocolate chip cookie dough eating madness here we go!!

This silly boy has to understand that celebrities live in a completely different world than we do. For instance, did you see MONSTER? Charlize Theron is fat fat fat. Since my company made the movie, we asked Charlize if she would be interested in a weight gain, and she agreed as long as we arranged for a personal trainer to help her take the weight off later. And, as expected, she looks GREAT now. Why? Because she devoted 3 months of her life to losing the weight. When you do nothing and get paid for it, it's super easy to be svelte all day long.

Christian Bale is also crazy dedicated, so he bulked up with the same ferocity that he lost weight for the machinist. The results are delicious.

Yeah. Christian Bale is pretty to look at. And what's really amazing is that he did this film right after The Machinist meaning that he bulked up from about 124 to around 220 in little over 5 months. And he's a fantastic actor. Very good at brooding. I just find the breadth of what he's done to be amazing. So we have American Psycho, Empire of the Sun, Newsies, Henry V (a minor role but still....), Pocohantas, Swing Kids, and Equilibrium to name just a few. Pretty eclectic. Oh, and Corelli's Mandolin. Really, this is the first Blockbuster that he's done. I can't wait to see the film.

He is absolutely broodolicious. He rivals Angel for top broodieness awards.

I seriously recommend checking out the 1992 TBS version of TREASURE ISLAND. It was so well done, and Bale is great as Jim. I don't know if they have it on DVD yet, but it's kicking around on VHS for sure.
