Another American in Sweden? anonymous November 9 2007, 14:50:36 UTC
Hi. I will assume that you're American since you just luv Jared Leto although I supposed a British girl could as well. It doesn't make any difference really. The fact is, is that you're English speaking and you're studying at LHS. I just started there. This is my first term. It's ...... ok. What I wanted to know is if you've felt at all isolated or alienated because you're American. That is, if you ARE American. I am American and I have felt this. It would seem that while it's completely taboo to speak negatively about Iran or Iraq or any other developing country, it's totally okay to speak negatively about America. I sort have been dealing with this for the last two years (since I started SFI at the local komvux) and frankly, I'm tired of it and was wondering if there was anyone else who feels like I do.

Would love to hear from you,
- Leah

I just read more of your journal and I can see that you're from Texas. Cool. I'm from California. I've been living in Sweden for almost 4 years. I am married to a Swede and we have a 4 year old little girl. I'm studying to be an English teacher at LHS. I don't love it though.
