I think people are just honestly excited about who she is, what she stands for, and yeah, also that she's a woman. I mean, she's a woman who can shoot and dress a moose! And beyond that, she has a GREAT record of reform in Alaska. So yeah, they're talking a lot about her, but they talked a lot about Biden for a few days too. Remember, he was announced earlier than she was. So this is her spotlight, and I expect some of it to die down in a few days, and then hopefully, people will be more focused on McCain/Obama instead of Palin/Obama. And by the way, I think it's great that the VPs are playing a bigger roll, at least for the Republicans! What better way to get things done than to work as a team? I think that this is one (possible) VP who won't sit idly by while the action is happening.
I think in some ways, Palin is more qualified than McCain. In a way, I think it's detrimental to the American people to have a career politician in office, especially after spending decades in public office.
Generally speaking, I consider her a breath of fresh air and wouldn't mind if McCain gets elected then croaks the day after he takes office, so we could have her as Pres for 4 years.
You know, I really agree. At least Palin has been the executive of first a town, then a state. What has Obama been the executive of?
While I was driving on my lunch hour just a little bit ago, I was listening to Outlaw Dave on 950am, and somebody called in and slammed Palin for drawing on her experience as a PTA member during last night's speech. In my opinion, she has the heart and spirit of a servant, and being a PTA member is just one example of that. Another example of that spirit is her putting the governor's jet on EBay after she won the Alaskan election. She thought it was "over the top" to have a luxury jet, and decided she would get rid of it. Seriously cool!
