Today I brought Asher to my tennish-year Reed reunion, because, hey, I had to bring him somewhere.

While we were there he had me explain two concepts: some schools let people live at them, but only the students, which led him to declare in favor of a preschool that would let him and his parents and his friends and their parents all take up

I've been meaning to get you to meet Sarah, Ben and Asher for a couple of years now. Sarah and Ben are you and Jeff in a carnival mirror. I can easily, easily, easily picture you six in a cohousing situation together, sharing live music, home ferments and sci-fi, making permacultural messes of the yard, and looking the other way while I teach your children made-up languages.

Of course, I've also been meaning to see you again sometime. First things first.

Well, August is walking now. When he's big enough to bike a block in three minutes unassisted, my little crew will be ready for another babe in arms.

"Oscar" nicely fills the next slot in the initial-syllable-vowel progression "Asher -> Arlo -> August -> _______", so I think he's a shoo-in.

I learned a thing recently: scooters (may) help kids learn bike-balance. They're easier to get on and less painful to fall off, but use the same balance.
