Here's a [rather lengthy] essay from Ray Cappo, the founder and singer of the band Youth of Today. It discusses straight edge, and the state it is in today. I agree with just about all view points, and feel just like he does that there are many a straight edge today that are giving the true ones bad names. Dann, this is exactly how everyone around here needs to start thinking. I've gotten too much of this individualist "Me being right is the most important thing," and I feel extremely shoved out at times. The sad part is that I'm starting to act like the individualists do; it's rubbing off, and I vehemently hate it. The accepting atmosphere that this guy talks about is one I've searched for for a pretty long time; I've almost forgotten what it feels like. Keep walking the walk, man.
