I was observing the other day that, for living in a desert, we have a ridiculous amount of green, growing things in our yard.
The strays have blossomed! Still no idea what they are, but they're pretty. So long as they don't lay eggs in the parts of my brain that I'm using, they can stay.
The boghendia returns. This thing was bare stumps a couple of months ago. Don't let all that pink fool you; this thing is vicious and demands blood sacrifices on a regular basis.
The tangelo is in full bloom and has been attracting wildlife like crazy. Between all the flower and butterflies, the patio is starting to look like the backdrop for a Disney princess photoshoot.
Finally, finally the blackberry canes are showing signs of life!
The birdbath with surrounding citrus seedlings-to-be and two kinds of poppies.
Lavender. I keep ignoring it, but it keeps refusing to die.
Budding bean plants.
Wee cucumbers.
The world's most evil lime tree. The flowers are lovely. Fruit looks fine. But cut them open at any point of the season, no matter how much you've watered the thing, and you find lime jerky.
Last year's citrus seedlings. I have honestly forgotten what these are supposed to be. A mixture of lemon, tangelo, and kumquat, I think. I suppose I'll find out in a few years.
And not flowering, but no long as well camouflaged, the fig tree. I assume it's still alive.
Not bad, really.
