Some fun finds while trawling Amazon's free MP3 downloads:

Send Me You - The Butchies: I had no idea there was a music genre called "queercore", but I think I rather like it. Or at least this.

Angel Toes - Katy the Wonder Cub: Insubstantial little earworm.

Easily Bruised - Matthew Barber: A bit of twangy melancholy.

...Wait, so if you hadn't heard (of) the Butchies, does this mean you've not heard Amy Ray's solo stuff?

I have so too heard Amy Ray's solo stuff, but that's because I'm a massive Indigo Girls fan. ;)

Okay. Well then you've so too heard the Butchies; they're one of her backup bands on Stag. (Which i looooooooooove, although Prom is growing on me like woah.)

Kaia Wilson (of the Butchies) once wrote a song called Where in the Hell is Greencastle, Indiana? Which is where i used to live (because she was dating a DePauw girl. Before my time, sadly, although it was spoken of with Great Reverence by the members of our local dyke population).

(Erm. I didn't live there because she was dating a DePauw girl...)
